Seamie, Rory & Stephen O’Dowd
Every Sunday from the 28st of February to the 14th of March we will celebrate a creative bubble in Sligo. Join us online for a family performance from one of our many talented families. This week it's the turn of the O'Dowds, Seamie, Rory and Stephen.
Seamie and his sons Rory & Stephen O’Dowd have been playing more frequently as an acoustic trio in recent times, successfully bringing their music beyond the lively pub jams around Sligo and Strandhill into a theatre setting on a number of occasions, as well as appearing on T.V.
Rory, is a top class competitive surfer and teacher, and has cut his teeth musically playing rock music as well as acoustic gigs, building a name in his own right.
Stephen is nearing the end of a BIMM music course and already has experience under his belt both in studio and at live gigs. He has become a multi instrumentalist with an increasingly solid personal reputation.
Seamie’s long experience as a musician and singer has seen him travel worldwide as well as recording and playing with some of Ireland’s finest musicians. Seamie is also a multi-instrumentalist and was nominated for the Best Musician category in the inaugural RTE Radio 1 Folk Awards of 2018.
They are delighted to share their music as part of this Hawk’s Well online series.
