Our Future

As we celebrate forty years of Hawk’s Well Theatre, we are working on a project of renewal to create a transformed space for future generations of artists, audiences and visitors through the renovation of our building.

We are fully committed to renewing and securing the theatre for the whole community, and have been fundraising tirelessly since 2016 in a bid to raise €1.52 million for our ambitious renovation project. The project aims to create a fully accessible space for all.

In 2021 the design tender was awarded to Rhatigan Architects. Although the project has suffered delays due to the global pandemic, work is expected to start in March 2023.

During the 2020 – 2022 lockdown, we continued to make major improvements and upgrades. We have updated the flooring and installed new theatre seating, and the auditorium has been fully painted and a new hearing loop has been installed. New essential theatre equipment including sound desk, lighting desk and projector have been purchased with support from Sligo Leader Partnership.

We would like to sincerely thank all our donors, patrons and contributors for supporting the Hawk’s Well Renovation fund. We still have some way to go to reach our goal but we are sure that with the help and support of the local community that we can make this happen.
