Working as part of our Hawks Well Team is rewarding, challenging and enjoyable. The Front of House Assistant role provides the vital link between us and our audience.

Duties include:
Welcoming guests warmly, managing queries, and providing exceptional service throughout their visit. Deal with all incoming telephone calls, taking accurate messages and appropriate action. Carry out administrative and light accounts work. You will be working with computers and handling cash from ticket sales. The participant will receive full training in how to conduct regular checks to ensure a safe working environment throughout the premises, working closely with senior management to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff whilst on the premises. Opening and closing the building, ensuring the venue is clean and tidy, being aware any health and safety issues. Openness to learning and skills development is key.

Job Description

Hawk’s Well Theatre is an inspiring, welcoming and ambitious place to work. The Bar and Operations will be a valued member of the team, directly contributing to the quality, ambition and success of this work.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Operations Manager, the Bar and Operations will help deliver the day-to-day operation of both venues. No two weeks are the same: one day may involve running front of house for a sold-out show, the next overseeing the bar for a community event, covering as Duty Manager, or preparing the venue for a hire, workshop or rehearsal.

A central part of the role is taking primary operational responsibility for the bar, alongside direct supervision of the front of house and bar teams. We are looking for a practical, positive and hands-on operational leader who enjoys solving problems, supporting colleagues and audiences, and helping busy venues run safely and professionally. This is a hands-on role with room to contribute ideas, develop skills and play an important part in the future of Hawk's Well Theatre.

We are looking for the person who has:

- Experience in a front-line operational, supervisory or Duty Manager role.
- Experience managing or supervising bar or hospitality operations, including stock control and service delivery.
- A strong track record of supervising, supporting and motivating staff teams.
- A collaborative and approachable manner, with the confidence to communicate clearly with colleagues, audiences, visiting companies and suppliers.
- The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills, accurate record-keeping and confidence using tills or EPOS systems.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety, licensing and safeguarding in a public venue.
- A genuine commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for audiences, participants, artists and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with the theatre programme.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Experience in a theatre, arts centre, cultural venue or other live events environment is desirable, as is experience supporting operations across more than one venue or site.

Hours: Full-time or part-time (to be confirmed).
Salary: Grade 4.1
Location: Across Hawk’s Well Theatre (Sligo) and the Art Deco Centre (Ballymote).

Hawk’s Well Theatre is an inspiring, welcoming and ambitious place to work. The Digital Marketing Assistant will be a valued member of the team, helping audiences discover our programme and directly contributing to the reach and success of our work.

The Opportunity
Working closely with the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Assistant will lead the day-to-day running of our social media channels across Hawk’s Well Theatre and Art Deco Ballymote. No two weeks are the same: one day may involve filming Reels at a sold-out show, the next launching a paid campaign for a new season, analysing what’s driving ticket sales, or planning content for a festival or family event.

A central part of the role is managing our two well-established, high-engagement accounts (Instagram and Facebook) and one smaller channel, with a combined following of 31.5k. We are looking for an experienced, proactive and creative digital marketer who knows how to turn great content and smart data into real audience growth. This is a hands-on role with room to bring fresh ideas, develop skills and play an important part in the future of Hawk’s Well Theatre.

We are looking for the person who has:
– At least 2 years’ proven experience managing social media accounts for a business or organisation.
– Demonstrable experience planning and running paid social media campaigns in Meta Ads Manager, including targeting, budget management and A/B testing.
– Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics 4, and the ability to track conversions and turn data into action.
– The ability to create high-quality content for social media, including Reels and short-form video, graphics and copywriting.
– Excellent written English and a strong sense of tone and storytelling.
– An understanding of accessibility best practice for digital content, including alt text, captions and inclusive language.
– A proactive, self-motivated approach, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
– The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once, both independently and as part of a team.
– Experience managing a YouTube channel, creating content for TikTok, email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp), or working in the arts, culture or live events sector is desirable, as is a portfolio of social media work.

Hours: 30 hours
Salary: Grade 3.1 (0.75 FTE)
