Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the release of his first solo recording, Headful Of Echoes in 2006, Seamie O'Dowd is performing a short run of solo dates this autumn.

Initially playing Irish fiddle music learned from his parents, Seamie has been involved in music since his first radio appearance at ten years of age and an appearance on BBC television at fifteen. He quickly went on to establish a reputation as a singer, guitarist and general multi-instrumentalist.

The smallest audience he has played to was three people and the largest was 250,000 at the massive Rock in Rio festival. The same level of musical commitment was given to both. And his reputation for absolute commitment to a performance has meant that there hasn't been an audience of three at any of his gigs for quite a while!!

His history of having toured worldwide playing (and recording) alongside musicians and bands such as Mairtin O'Connor, Cathal Hayden, Dervish, The Chieftains, Tommy Emmanuel, Christy Moore, and many others is well known.

He played the Sydney Opera House and toured the US three times as part of Martin Hayes' "Masters Of Irish Music" project.

He also worked with film score and TV music composer George Fenton in Abbey Road Studios on the film score of the Ken Loach film "Jimmy's Hall". He also has wide experience in production, musical arrangement and teaching.

Seamie has released four solo albums, the aforementioned "Headful Of Echoes", a traditional Irish guitar album called "Wood And Iron", the live recording "Live At The Hawk's Well" and a traditional Irish fiddle album called "Further Down The Line". He also released an online four-track recording of jazz-tinged instrumental music composed and recorded over the lockdown period called "To Await Whatever Comes". These recordings alone stand as solid proof that Seamie is a musician who endeavours to make every note matter and doesn't rely on formula.

Seamie's solo gigs bind together his many musical interests, experiences and abilities into a cohesive and always enjoyable gig.
