Customer Code of Conduct
Hawk’s Well Theatre and Art Deco Cinema & Theatre are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for all patrons, performers, artists, staff and volunteers.
By entering the venue, customers agree to follow this Customer Code of Conduct and all reasonable instructions given by venue staff or security personnel.
Respectful Behaviour
Customers must treat staff, performers and fellow audience members with courtesy and respect.
The following will not be tolerated:
- abusive, offensive or discriminatory language
- threatening or aggressive behaviour
- disruptive behaviour that interferes with others’ enjoyment
- behaviour that compromises the safety of others
Any person engaging in this behaviour may be refused entry or removed from the venue without refund.
Admission & Seating
A valid ticket must be presented upon request.
Customers must occupy their allocated seat where applicable.
Latecomers may only be admitted at the discretion of venue staff and at a suitable break in the performance.
Mobile Phones, Photography & Recording
Mobile phones must be switched off or set to silent during performances.
Photography, video recording and audio recording are not permitted unless explicitly allowed by the venue or event organiser.
Food & Drink
Only food and drink purchased on-site may be consumed within the venue.
Outside food and drink are not permitted unless otherwise agreed.
No glassware is permitted inside the auditorium.
Alcohol must be consumed responsibly. We reserve the right to refuse service in accordance with licensing laws.
Smoking & Vaping
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the building.
Customers may use designated outdoor areas where available.
Bags & Security
Bags may be subject to inspection as a condition of entry.
Large bags or suitcases may not be permitted.
Prohibited items include:
- outside alcohol
- illegal substances
- weapons or dangerous items
- unauthorised recording equipment
Refusal to comply with security checks may result in refusal of entry.
Venue Property
Malicious damage to, or theft of, venue property will not be tolerated.
Children & Supervision
Children must be supervised at all times.
Age recommendations and restrictions for performances should be observed when booking and attending.
Staff Instructions
Customers must follow all reasonable instructions given by venue staff and security personnel.
Emergency Procedures
In the event of an emergency, customers must follow all staff instructions and venue evacuation procedures.
Right of Admission
Hawk’s Well Theatre and Art Deco Cinema & Theatre reserve the right to:
- refuse admission
- remove any individual from the premises
- cancel tickets without refund
This may apply in cases of:
- breach of this Customer Code of Conduct
- intoxication
- non-compliance with staff instructions
- behaviour that compromises safety
- behaviour that interferes with the enjoyment of others
