Fresh from his excellent live performance at the Cairde Sligo Arts Festival under his New Jackson moniker, we are delighted to welcome David Kitt to the Hawk’s Well this Autumn. The last number of years have seen him touring and recording as a member of Tindersticks, producing work for the likes of David Gray and Lisa O’ Neill and exploring techno, disco, and house music. He has described his brilliant first solo record for nine years, Yous, as “the most free I’ve felt making a record since my debut Small Moments”, and that sense of freedom is bound up in themes of renewal, movement, and a constant reshaping of his musical preoccupations. David will be joined on the night by Margie Jean Lewis (vocals and violin).
“There’s always been an element of the ephemeral in David Kitt’s music. An emphasis placed on the beauty of the moment over any other aspect of the music.” Luke Sharkey, Golden Plec 2018
