In conjunction with our 40th Birthday year celebrations, we are asking members of the community to share their memories and stories of their Time At The Well.

The community is at the heart of the Hawk’s Well. The theatre collaborates with a range of local organisations and communities to make the arts accessible to everyone.

The stage has been a welcoming home for the performing artists of Sligo – both amateur and professional - throughout its lifetime. From the stalwart local amateur drama, musical and pantomime groups to primary and secondary schools, performing arts schools and individual artists; local people express and engage with their creativity at the theatre.

The wall of shared history at the Hawk’s Well goes back as far as 1966 when Sligo Drama Circle were invited to perform plays by W.B. Yeats as a part of the Yeats International Summer School. This led to the setting up of what became known as the Little Theatre or A Theatre for Sligo project.

From stories of lovebirds first meeting through performing in the Sligo General Hospital Musical Society to a failed lighting board 24 hours before Garry Hynes and Druid Theatre Company were set to go on stage, the Hawk’s Well Theatre wants to hear your fondest memories of Your Time At The Well over the past 40 years.

For a chance to feature on the Hawk’s Well foyer wall, submit your story of 50-80 words along with an image to marketing@hawkswell.com.
