You’ll walk away with a deeper awareness of how to successfully navigate this career with greater joy and ease.

Led by professional actor, writer, director, film lecturer, Monica McCarthy. Monica has also spent over a decade as an Emotional Intelligence Facilitator for hundreds of organizations across the globe.


Join us for this 90-minute interactive workshop where we’ll cover:


-Exploring the unique challenges of the actor’s path
-Navigating rejection, uncertainty, and self-doubt with the help of neuroscience
-Building resilience while avoiding burnout
-Recognizing our habitual emotional responses and how to adjust


About your facilitator:


Monica McCarthy
is an award-winning actress, filmmaker, and facilitator living in Sligo. Specializing in the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and the arts, she has delivered hundreds of workshops and keynote on Emotional Intelligence and Creativity across the globe in collaboration with The School of Life, Philosophy At Work, and Leqture.

Monica lectures in Shakespeare at ATU Sligo and Fiction Filmmaking at ATU Galway and is completing her PhD in Creative Practice.

Monica’s recent acting credits include: Finnegan's Foursome (Paramount+, directed by and starring opposite Ed Burns), Wednesday, (Netflix, directed by Tim Burton), Faithless (Virgin Media).

Other on-screen credits include: The Noel Diary (Netflix, directed by Charles Shyer, Father of the Bride), FBI (CBS), The Blacklist (NBC, directed by Andrew McCarthy), and Mildred Pierce (HBO, directed by Todd Haynes, opposite Kate Winslet). Monica won "Best Actress" across numerous film festivals in her dark comedy short film Survival Job, which she also wrote and directed.

She also directed and stars in The Blow-In which filmed in Sligo and Leitrim and is currently in festivals across Ireland and the UK.

On Broadway, Monica understudied Laura Linney and Alicia Silverstone in the Tony-nominated production of Time Stands Still and she’s performed in regional theatres in the States, Japan, and in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

She’s currently starring in the forthcoming feature film, Liquid Self directed by Maríssa Aroy.
