Stage Sprint Weekend

A family-friendly Halloween theatre adventure at Hawk’s Well Theatre.

This Halloween, families are invited to join a fast-paced, fun-filled workshop at Hawk’s Well Theatre. Over two creative days, you’ll dream up your own spooky story. Ghosts, legends, original tales, and turn it into a short play to perform together.

Led by Artist in Residence, Niamh McGrath, families will explore movement, improvisation, character creation, and collaborative storytelling. The emphasis is on devising, rehearsing and having a great time. No prior experience required.

Got a ghost costume lurking in the attic? A mysterious hat or forgotten prop? Bring it along! Anything could spark the story that steals the show.

No experience needed, just enthusiasm and a sprinkle of Halloween spirit. Stage Sprint Weekend is a joyful way to celebrate creativity, community, and the fun of performing together.

Saturday – From Ideas to Action
10am–11am Warm-up & Games

11.15-12.30pm – Stories & Improvisation

Lunch (1 Hour)

1.30pm–3pm – Scene Building & Group Work
Families devise short sketches, experimenting with staging, sound, voice and physical theatre in a relaxed, playful environment.

Sunday – From Rehearsal to Performance
10am–11am

11.15-12:30pm Games & rehearsal

Lunch (45 mins)

1:15pm–1:45pm – Final Rehearsal
Tie everything together and get ready to share your spooky creations.

2pm – Performance for your invited friends and family.
