Sligo Sounds:
The McLynns Old Market St. and the 1970’s

Beautifully shot and packed with archive stills, the film recalls the glory days of the hugely talented family folk group McLynns Old Market St., comprising siblings Donal, Bairbre and Paula, including the story of how they were signed by CBS Records and suddenly found themselves sharing a label with Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Leonard Cohen and countless other huge stars.

John Mullaney: Gentleman Draper - “This Is What We Do.”

This dreamy portrait of Sligo department store owner John Mullaney recalls the origins of the family drapers and travel agency - established by his father and uncle in 1909. Mr. Mullaney talks about its central role in the social and cultural life of Sligo. He also proudly shows us one of the items closest to his heart; The Book - a remarkable register, beginning early in the last century, of names, addresses and fares paid by the many hundreds of Sligo people who came to Mullaney Bros. to book their passage on ships to the New World.
