I Swear is based on the true story of Scottish activist John Davidson. Teenage John seemed destined to become a professional footballer, until he started developing the symptoms of Tourette’s Syndrome. Years pass, and John struggles with the social consequences of his condition. However, a chance encounter with an old friend sets John’s life on an exciting new path.

This film has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“★★★★
The film feels like a therapeutic tool… I Swear, despite that on-the-nose title, will win friends wherever it goes.” - Donald Clarke, The Irish Times

“★★★★
Aramayo… puts in an extraordinary performance, achieving not just the technical feat of playing someone with such a specific physical and vocal condition, but also nailing the emotional pathos, the likeable everyman, the sly humour.” - John Nugent, Empire

“Aramayo’s sensitive portrayal of the man and Jones’ unflinching dedication to showing some of Davidson’s most painful moments… add up to an insightful biopic that chronicles a very worthy subject.” - Kate Erbland, Indiewire
