To celebrate Bloomsday 2026, the Hawks Well are proud to present Gerry Farrell’s Blooming Ulysses. A hilarious and highly acclaimed one-man show of Joyce’s masterpiece, Ulysses. The show has had performances all over the world, filling theatres in the USA, Switzerland, the UK and many other venues, including tours of Ireland, but especially Dublin, where it has been a regular sold-out show of the annual Bloomsday Festival. It wins the hearts of audiences and critics alike.
The comic novel follows an anti-hero, Leopold Bloom, around Dublin on a single day: June 16, 1904, which has become known as Bloomsday. So every June 16th, the novel is celebrated in venues all over the world. Farrell’s performances have confounded theatres goers, critics and academics alike with how accessible the novel becomes when played out on stage with perfect comic timing and skilled text integration. Those already familiar with Farrell’s work, particularly his sold-out performances of “I had to go for counselling”, will not want to miss this incredible show of international renown.
