Lunchtime Shows at the Well!

Drop in to the Hawk's Well Theatre for a weekly dish of culture in our foyer!
Limited Capacity and booking required. Group bookings are welcome, but limited to 10 per show.

MAY 7: Trad@Lunch - Aisling Clarke, Darren Culliney and Liam Doherty
Aisling Clarke (flute), Darren Culliney (multi-instrumentalist, PhD), and Liam Doherty (multi-instrumentalist with Rhythm and Sticks) are a talented young trad trio. Aisling holds a first-class BA in Irish Music, while Darren and Liam hail from Longford. Together, they represent the vibrant new wave of traditional music.
MAY 14: Music@Lunch - The Cedartones
The Cedartones are a musical duo from Sligo consisting of Sarah Crummy - vocals, keys and Gavin Murphy - guitar, vocals. They play classic songs from all eras! Gavin is the lead guitarist for the popular Smith’s tribute band ‘These Charming Men’ and Sarah’s influences range from Stevie Wonder to Norah Jones so expect a fun infusion!
MAY 21: Trad@Lunch - Néillidh Mulligan and Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagáin
The Mulligan family are no strangers to anyone in the traditional music world. Néillidh is the son of acclaimed Leitrim fiddle player and piper, Tom Mulligan. It is fitting that he be joined by his daughter, Caoimhe, who is both a musician and sean nós dancer and together they will be showcasing a tradition of music that is now in its fifth generation in their family.
MAY 28: Music@Lunch - Eoin Troy and Seamie McGowan
Join acclaimed local musicians Eoin Troy and Seamie McGowan for a lunchtime of pop, folk and soulfull tunes to brighten up your Wednesday!
JUNE 4: Trad@Lunch - Ailíse Maxwell and Friends
Ailíse Maxwell is current All-Ireland champion ballad singer in the 15-18 age group. She is also an accomplished sean nós and set dancer, lilter and multi-instrumentalist.
JUNE 11: Music@Lunch - Eamonn Mullarkey and Friends
Eamonn is a vocalist from Sligo. He has been covering Shane MacGowan’s songs for many years and has collaborated with many Musicians most recently with Sharon Shannon. He is also the lead vocalist of the Sligo Punk Band Church House Creepers who are about to release their first album.
JUNE 18: Trad@Lunch - Draíocht - Michael Rooney and June McCormack
This husband and wife duo, also known as Draíocht, have substantial musical credentials. They have already achieved great things individually, including major awards and two acclaimed recordings. They have toured extensively as Draíocht, having performed throughout the States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
JUNE 25: Music@Lunch - Stephen O'Dowd and Dee Armstrong
Stephen’s performance covers a wide range of instruments, featuring folk and traditional music, along with his own original contemporary folk songs. His style is influenced by artists like Planxty, Thom Moore, and Rick Epping. Joining him on fiddle is Dee Armstrong (from Kíla), a highly respected and unique musician known worldwide.
JULY 2: Trad@Lunch - Brian Mostyn, Michelle Gallagher and John McLoughlin
Michelle, John, and Brian are the heartbeat of traditional music in Leitrim, Sligo, Cavan, and Fermanagh. They bring the joy of traditional tunes to communities across the Midwest. With Brian’s All-Ireland championship accolades and their lively performances, they ensure that the spirit of traditional music thrives for all to enjoy
JULY 9: Cairde@Lunch - Dee Armstrong with Diarmuid and Lughaidh Armstrong
Don’t miss the chance to hear the amazing Dee Armstrong play live with her sons, Diarmuid and Lughaidh Armstrong Mayock. This special family performance brings together three talented artists with their own unique skills.
JULY 16: Trad@Lunch - Jacinta Ní Chonghaile, Aidan Shannon and Enda McGreevy
Jacinta Ní Chonghaile, originally from Galway, has been playing music since she was 5. She is a champion whistle, flute and concertina player. Her husband, Aidan Shannon from Roscommon is also a champion flute and whistle player and won All-Ireland titles as part of the Moylurg Céilí Band along with fellow Roscommon fiddle-player, Enda McGreevy. Together, they are sure to keep your feet tapping.
JULY 23: Jazz@Lunch - Ant Law and Brigitte Beraha
Guitarist Ant Law is known for his innovative approach to modern jazz, while vocalist Brigitte Beraha blends poetic lyricism with improvisational flair, both carving unique paths in the contemporary music scene.
JULY 30: Trad@Lunch - David Munnelly and Edwina Guckian
Dave Munnelly is known in music circles as the bullet from Belmullet – a comment on the drive and enthusiasm he brings to his music. As one of Ireland’s finest exponents of the accordion, it is fitting that he will be joined by one of Ireland’s finest dancers, Edwina Guckian, Gradam Award winner from County Leitrim. This is one not to be missed!
AUG 6: Music@Lunch - Sinead Conway, Dave Flynn and Luke Devaney
Sinead Conway (vocals), Famous Dave Flynn (guitar and vocals) and Luke Devaney (Guitar, Mandolin and vocals) otherwise known as Me and the Lads will entertain you through your lunchtime with a mix of folk and pop songs which will be brimming with three-part vocal harmonies.
AUG 13: Trad@Lunch - Kate and Tom Gavin
From Sligo town, Kate and Tom Gavin are a brother and sister duet whose family is steeped in Irish culture. Kate is an award-winning harpist and fiddle player and Tom is an exceptional flute and tin-whistle player. Both match that with fine singing voices and bring great Sligo flavour to their music.
AUG 20: Music@Lunch - La Gracia
LaGracia is fronted by husband and wife, Gráinne and Kevin from Sligo. Their sound is Neo Soul, reminiscent of the 90’s R&B sound of Lauryn Hill and TLC with an Aretha-esque vocal delivery by Gráinne. They will be performing a mixture of their original material and some of their favourite Soul / RnB covers as a three piece with Odhran Smyth who co-wrote their Christmas song Please Come Home.
AUG 27: Trad@Lunch - Damsel
This American indie-folk duo integrate their background as classical chamber musicians with folk music leanings to create an intricate instrumental sound around tight vocal harmonies. Join Monica Mugan (vocals/guitar/ukulele) and Beth Meyers (vocals/viola/banjo/ukulele) in our final Lunchtime at the Well session.
