'Lunchtime at the Well' is curated with support from Lisa Golden, Miriam Needham and Isabel Claffey.

MAY 8: Trad@Lunch Niamh & Séan Farrell

Siblings Niamh and Séan Farrell grew up playing traditional music in Sligo. One of Ireland’s most exquisite and versatile voices, Niamh’s memorable performances are nothing short of spine-tingling. She is joined by her brother Séan on vocals and guitar to kick off our summer lunchtime series.

MAY 15: Cabaret@Lunch

Join us for a delightful mixture of comedy, drama, and song, performed by Órla McSharry, Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick, and Conn Barry.

MAY 22: Trad@Lunch: Junior Davey & Friends

Coming from Gurteen Co. Sligo, Junior Davey is a 5 times All Ireland Bódhran Champion and Bones World Champion. He has performed with many of Ireland’s finest musicians. He is joined by some special guests for this performance.

MAY 29: Drama@Lunch curated by Isabel Claffey

Join us for some lunch-time theatre and a hilarious radio play directed by Isabel Claffey.

JUNE 5: Trad@Lunch: SEOID

SEOID is a new collaboration of the well-known Trad multi-instrumentalists Kerrie Herrity, Kenny Donagher, John Dwyer & Fiachra Guihen performing a lively and vibrant mix of traditional sets and newly composed music.

JUNE 12: Joyce@Lunch

Join us as we celebrate Bloomsday this week with some hilarious performances from the works of the great James Joyce. Enjoy a selection of readings and songs from Donal O’Kelly and friends.

JUNE 19: Trad@Lunch Oisín MacDiarmada & Samantha Harvey

Oisín Mac Diarmada is an All-Ireland winning fiddle player, and founder of the internationally renowned group Téada. Providing masterful accompaniment on piano, Samantha Harvey is an award-winning step dancer.

JUNE 26: Cabaret@Lunch

Join Marina Ilina, Chakra O’Connor, Sinéad Sexton, Margo Barrow and Gavin Marley for some engaging drama, poetry and music.

JULY 3: Trad@Lunch: Ryan Sheridan, Conor McDonagh & Sinéad Johnston

We are joined by some of Sligo’s finest young musicians Conor McDonagh, Ryan Sheridan and Sinéad Johnston. All 3 have had many major successes at all-Ireland Fleadh level through the years. The trios most recent success was taking 1st place in the Senior trio competition at the most recent all –Ireland fleadh in Mullingar.

JULY 10: Cairde@Lunch: GreenBirdFlying

Enjoy some music from GreenBirdFlying as part of the Cairde Sligo Arts Festival. GreenBirdFlying is the alt folk trio of Cliodhna Quinlan, Mark Murphy and Mandi Frankham. As a trio they perform tuneful original folk music and songs with a hint of strangeness that fit around many genres including traditional, old time and americana.

JULY 17: Trad@Lunch: Lisa Golden & Friends

Young Ballymote musician Lisa Golden has helped us curate our Trad@Lunch sessions this year. A great flute player, Lisa has won the All-Ireland 12 – 15 Flute Slow Airs in 2022 and is joined for this performance by special guests.

JULY 24: Jazz@Lunch: Eleonora Strino Trio

Enjoy some Jazz at lunch time with a performance from Eleonora Strino Trio as Sligo Jazz Festival takes over the Hawk’s Well.

JULY 31: Trad@Lunch: Aaron and Ava Glancy

Join the multi-talented Irish traditional dancers and musicians Aaron and Ava Glancy. Ava is a skilled sean-nós dancer and fiddle player who has competed in Fleadhanna Ceoil competitions at every level. Aaron Glancy, her brother, is the reigning All Ireland Senior Button Accordion Champion and a sean-nós dancer.

AUG 7: Drama@Lunch

Isabel Claffey and a host of local talent bring us a lunchtime show of humour, drama and moving moments.

AUG 14: Trad@Lunch: Stephen Doherty, David & Patrick Doocey

Brothers David and Patrick Doocey on guitar and fiddle are originally from Boston, now living in Mayo. Stephen Doherty is a multi-instrumentalist from Foxford playing flute, accordion and whistles. This trio have performed with some of the top artists in the industry.

AUG 21: Cabaret@Lunch

Our final Cabaret@Lunch promises lots of surprises, with performances from Theatre Artist in Residence Miriam Needham and friends.

AUG 28: Trad@Lunch: Daithí Gormley and Elaine Reilly

From Ballintogher, Daithí Gormley is widely regarded as one of the best Button Accordion players of his generation, with a vast repertory rooted in the rich musical legacy of his home county. Elaine Reilly from Granard, County Longford, is one of the foremost tenor banjo players of her generation.
