Hawk’s Well Theatre Secures €134K Funding to Expand ‘Art for All’ Mission

We are delighted to announce that Hawk’s Well Theatre has been awarded over €134,000 in funding, creating nearly €70,000 in paid opportunities for artists.
This significant investment supports our commitment to making art accessible to all, empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to engage in the arts as not just participants but creatives. Through our SHINE programme, we offer weekly immersive multidisciplinary theatre workshops designed to cultivate creativity and champion inclusion.
This achievement is made possible through our collaboration with dedicated partners: Sligo-Leitrim Community Inclusion Training Services, National Learning Network, This Ability, and Down Syndrome Sligo.
A special mention to Sinead O’Donnell Carey and Isabel Claffey for their tireless dedication to the group, to Jane Tansey for her endless generosity and to our Programming Manager Maeve McGowan who spearheaded this initiative.
Together, we strive to build a more inclusive arts community in Sligo.
A heartfelt thank you to the team at RETHINK IRELAND, the Disability Participation and Awareness Fund, Minister Norma Foley and Minister Hildegarde Naughton for recognizing and supporting our vision.
Here's to a brighter, more inclusive future in the arts!
