A spectacular night at Show up & Show Off!
In May, Hawk's Well Theatre hosted a wonderful community event, SHOW UP & SHOW OFF, celebrating the remarkable talent of Hawk’s Well’s community groups, including the Shine Drama and Music groups. The night was a vibrant display of creativity and talent, as participants from Hawk’s Well workshops took centre stage to showcase their skills and hard work.
The performers of Hawk's Well Theatre lit up the stage, creating an unforgettable night of entertainment. As a Theatre for the People, the community is at the heart of Hawk's Well’s creative workshop programme and the theatre is committed to presenting a diverse program that reflects the community and amplifies every voice. Hawk’s Well community workshops engage over 100 participants regularly:
- Over 50 in Community Adult Orchestra with Niamh Crowley
- Over 50 in Sing for the Hell of It! Choir with Dave Flynn
- 20 in Acting for Adults with Isabel Claffey
- 10 in Comedy Writing with John Colleary
- 15 in Shine program for adults with intellectual disabilities
The Shine project has enabled the theatre to offer drama and music workshops for young adults with intellectual disabilities at the theatre. These workshops were facilitated by Isabel Claffey, Sinéad O’Donnell Carey, (drama) Maria Ward and Lisa Cannon (music).
