Join award-winning filmmaker and actor Caroline Harvey for a 6-week workshop on ‘How to make a short film’. This course will walk you through the entire short film process from first page to premiere. This workshop is ideal for all levels from beginners to people already within film and the arts. For all creatives interested in gaining the skills and knowledge in bringing their vision to life. For those looking to refine and complete a short film with confidence and clarity.

• PRE – PRODUCTION: Script development, tone & style, script practicality for shooting, budgeting & funding, casting, crew, scheduling, shot lists, locations, and logistics (yes, even catering!).
• PRODUCTION: Directing actors, collaborating with crew, managing time and resources on set, and creative problem-solving.
• POST – PRODUCTION: Working with editors, composers, sound design, mixing, colour grading, finishing your film and building your film festival strategy.

Caroline Harvey
is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, actor, and producer based in Donegal, Ireland. Her short film Wednesday’s Child won the Oscar-qualifying Tiernan McBride Award for Best Short Fiction at the 2022 Galway Film Fleadh and was IFTA-nominated for Best Short Film in 2023. Her work has screened internationally, earning recognition at festivals including Irish Film London and the Richard Harris Film Festival.

Caroline trained in special effects makeup at IADT and has worked extensively across theatre, TV, and film — both in front of and behind the camera. She played Farrah Clayton in Fair City (2014–2019) and has appeared in Obituary (Hulu), Headcases (RTÉ2), and the award-winning feature Horseshoe. As a writer/director, she was selected for prestigious labs including the Storyhouse Lab (2024), Catalyst Script Lab (2025), and Screen Producers Ireland’s EMERGE programme.

Her recent directing debut, The Crucible, premiered at the 36th Galway Film Fleadh, and her short documentary I’m Grand – exploring burnout in social workers – premiered in 2024 after receiving the inaugural Concern Worldwide Bursary.
