The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Following the tremendous success of Hansel & Gretel earlier this year, Sligo Hospital Musical Society is proud to announce its 2026 pantomime production — The Hunchback of Notre Dame. With a cast made up of Sligo Hospital staff as well as TY students from Mercy College Sligo, it's real celebration of local talent and our front line heroes!

This year’s production promises to captivate audiences with a perfect mix of laughter, music, and heart. The story follows Quasimodo, the kind-hearted bell ringer of Notre Dame, who dreams of acceptance and love in a world that often misunderstands him. With a lively cast, dazzling costumes, and uplifting musical numbers, The Hunchback of Notre Dame will bring the magic of Paris to Sligo — pantomime-style!

Director Niamh Manly returns to the directors chair to lead another spectacular production and the excitement is already building.

“The hospital panto has always been about community spirit, creativity, and fun,” said Niamh. “After the joy of last year’s return, we can’t wait to welcome audiences back to the Hawk’s Well for another unforgettable show. Expect laughter, surprises, and plenty of panto magic. After this years Panto, we released tickets for the next show one year in advance for the first time ever and we have been amazed at the level of Sales, so people really need to grab their tickets soon."

The Sligo Hospital Musical Society pantomime has now been running for over 28 years, raising more than €200,000 for local charities. Each year, proceeds from the production go to causes close to the hearts of hospital staff and the wider community.
