A mobile photo studio and acclaimed interactive art experience that allows kids to turn the camera back on their parents.

Children are given permission to observe and portray their parent, while parents are able to experience being ‘seen’ by their child. Each child artist chooses an object, which best represents this adult subject, before art directing a creative portrait directly onto their adult’s face! Each artwork is captured by a professional photographer and becomes part of a digital exhibition in our foyer on Culture Night.

I See You Like This is an acclaimed interactive art experience created by Jessica Wilson with designer Matilda Woodroofe to celebrate the fascinating relationship that is at the heart of individual identity – between parent and child. It has toured Australia and Europe amassing a collection of nearly 2000 portraits! In this unique hands-on experience children will become the art director of a creative portrait of their parent. Each unique portrait will be captured by professional photographer in a celebration of the fascinating relationship between parent and child.

The 45-minute experience begins with questions to the child artist about what kind of person their parent is, they then choose a suitable key object, before art directing a creative portrait directly onto their 'subject's' face. The pair then enter the studio to art direct the photoshoot and SNAP, the unique portrait is ready.

In this unique hands-on experience children will become the art director of a creative portrait of their parent. With an exciting selection of materials and objects and the child uses their adult or parent’s face as the canvas for a unique, and often bizarre, portrait. Be part of what looks a lot like an unusual ‘salon’. Once complete the parent / child pair move to the studio area where, professional photographer, Anna Leask will take your photo. This artistic portrait directed entirely by your child will then be displayed across Sligo as part of Culture night and will be provided to you in digital format by Anna to ensure this amazing portrait is yours to keep forever.
