Don’t miss this fantastic night of talent that combines some of Sligo’s most musically accomplished families - the O’Dowds, Grennans, Carbonells and Kellys for an epic night of music!
Having come from a hugely musical family, Seamie O’Dowd is one of the most loved and respected musicians in this country. Seamie will be joined by his sons Rory & Stephen, who over the last few years have evolved into a three guitar based performance that has attracted emphatic praise from significant musical quarters.
Roscommon born Cathy Jordan has led traditional group Dervish as front woman for nearly 30 years. She will be joined by Felip, Maria and Deia Carbonell. Virtually born to the music stage thanks to their father and accomplished folk and latin singer-songwriter, Felip Carbonell, The Carbonell Sisters blend their voices in harmony while covering a range of original music and their unique take on some of their best loved songs.
Dee Armstrong is a fiddle player and composer with a long career as a key member of Kíla, a solo artist, and a collaborator. Diarmuid Armstrong Mayock is a professional contemporary dancer who has performed with Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Liz Roche Company, and Attic Projects. He created his first full-length dance theatre performance and also plays the 5-string banjo. Lughaidh Armstrong Mayock is a musician, songwriter, composer, and teacher, and a founding member of Sky Atlas, where he is the lead guitarist and singer.
Jos, Elsa, Alex, and Ted Kelly come from a musical family, with all children in the family accomplished musicians. Having been described as being on the cutting edge of new Irish trad, their music is influenced by a number of genres of music, but very important among them is the traditional music of county Sligo.
Each highly accomplished in their own right, Elsa plays the Harp and Flute; Ted on the Banjo and Mandolin, Jos on the Accordion and Alex on the Concertina.
This night will be bursting with talent as it offers special performances from some of Sligo’s most cherished musical families. Celebrate with us the value of family tradition and connection in music, in this unique night of entertainment.
