CLADA is a Traditional Irish Folk Band from County Galway, Ireland. Formed in March 2024, CLADA is comprised for five Irish musicians who all bring something different to the forefront from their musical backgrounds respectively.
Band Members:
Orla Leavy takes the reins on fiddle with her virtuosity in Irish traditional music, Sam Carey with his hot hand keeping the ante up with his tight rhythms, Liam Tierney always steals the show with his eccentric box playing and sporadic showmanship, Sam Purcell always fills the pocket with his tasty drum skills and finally Eoin Salmon who lays down the low end on bass keeping the songs and tunes sounding funky and fresh.
With the Irish Traditional sound that CLADA have so meticulously honed over the short time they’ve been together, their use of different musical styles with the use of a multitude of effects can be heard throughout their ensembles ranging from Irish traditional, folk, pop, funk, bluegrass and even elements of dance music which in turn gives traditional Irish music a fresh lift to keep it on par with the releases in todays modern mainstream genres.
“We want to create something that everyone can enjoy. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel or anything, but instead to take what’s already been celebrated as part of Irish culture for generations and make it more accessible for those either familiar with or new to the genre. This is something we’re taking pride in, and with this new take on Irish music, there’s something for everyone with CLADA’s sound”
