Calling all teenagers!

New Voices is a 9 week playwrighting programme for 15-18 year olds who are interested in creative writing and theatre.

Participants will get a chance to explore fun writing exercises, test out ideas with peers, and be guided to write their own short play. These short plays will then be performed as a rehearsed reading by professional actors in a showcase on Saturday 16th December.

During the programme, participants will also attend a play together at the theatre.

No previous writing or theatre experience required.

The closing date for applications is Monday 9th October. All applicants will be notified of outcome by Wednesday 11th October. There is a nominal fee of €10 for each participant. The New Voices programme is made possible thanks to generous support from The Arts Council of Ireland.

About the Facilitator:


Miriam Needham is Artist-in-Residence at The Hawk’s Well Theatre. She is a writer, actor, director, and facilitator. Recent projects include Gazelle (Cairde Festival), Hear Me Speak! (Hawk’s Well Theatre), and Beckett’s Room (Dead Centre). More information can be found at www.miriamneedham.com
