Celebrating the female voice in jazz with Emilia Martensson, Christine Tobin, Veronica Morscher & friends.
Emilia Martensson is a London based Swedish vocalist and composer of considerable repute. After her four latest album releases, Emilia has built a well-deserved reputation as one of the most exciting vocalists on the UK Jazz scene and she was awarded 'Vocalist-of-the-Year 2026' at the Parliamentary Jazz Words'. Her gently expressive voice and highly personal compositions are firmly rooted within the folklore and countryside of native southern Sweden, adding to the mystique and allure of a distinctive and truly original artist.
Christine Tobin grew up in Dublin, later moving to London to attend the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She was an integral part of the London contemporary scene for many years before moving to New York in 2015 where she made a considerable impact on the city’s creative music world. In 2014 she was awarded ‘Jazz Vocalist of the Year’ at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Earlier in 2008, she won a BBC Jazz Award for ‘Best Vocalist’. Aside from her own projects, she has worked and recorded with an array of artists including musicians Django Bates, Billy Hart, Julian Joseph, Kenny Wheeler, Mark Turner, Louis Stewart, Nigel Kennedy, Jean Toussaint, Francesco Turrisi, Ingrid Jensen, actor Gabriel Byrne and film director Mike Figgis. She has played at major festivals and venues around the world.
Veronika Morscher is an Austrian singer, lyricist and composer. After completing her bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, she moved back to Europe, where she completed her master's degree at the University of Music and Art in Vienna and at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne. She recently published a trio album with "Of Cabbages and Kings" called Yes And. and recorded her second album with her own music, which will be released in May 2024 on Lowswing Records, Berlin.
