A painting of women wearing long dresses, holding hands and dancing around a bonfire. On top of the image is the text: Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel in yellow letters.

Written by Brian Friel, the award-winning play “Dancing at Lughnasa” is set in early August 1936 around the Celtic festival of Lughnasa and is told from the point of view of the adult Michael Evans as he recounts the summer in his aunt's cottage when he was seven years old. The play depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for five of the Mundy sisters. Their older brother, Fr. Jack, has recently returned home from Uganda and his erratic behaviour troubles the five sisters greatly. Meanwhile, the unexpected return of Michael's charming but completely unreliable father, Gerry, keeps Michael and Christina on tenterhooks as to whether he will ever settle down with them.

Proceeds from Windmill Player’s performance on Friday June 14th are being donated to "Dom's Wish”:
