Written by Brian Friel, the award-winning play “Dancing at Lughnasa” is set in early August 1936 around the Celtic festival of Lughnasa and is told from the point of view of the adult Michael Evans as he recounts the summer in his aunt's cottage when he was seven years old. The play depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for five of the Mundy sisters. Their older brother, Fr. Jack, has recently returned home from Uganda and his erratic behaviour troubles the five sisters greatly. Meanwhile, the unexpected return of Michael's charming but completely unreliable father, Gerry, keeps Michael and Christina on tenterhooks as to whether he will ever settle down with them.

Dominic Keenaghan was diagnosed with cancer in June 2023 and passed away one month later at the age of 38. Leaving behind his pregnant wife Orla McDermott and their 14 month old son Lachlan. His baby girl Eden Dominique Keenehan arrived on the 6th of October. "Dom's Wish" has been established in order to support Orla, Lachlan and Eden in carrying out much needed renovations to their home in Aughris, Co. Sligo and to support them at this very difficult time.
