New Super Sunday Trad Sessions for Teenagers coming up
The Hawk's Well Theatre have created a new series of daytime traditional music sessions that caters especially for teenagers. Super Sunday Sessions provide an opportunity for teenagers to play traditional music in a family-friendly and relaxed environment, led by the very finest master musicians. Unwind with the Sunday papers, while younger siblings can enjoy an arts & crafts activity. With a small menu of croissants, scones and free tea and coffee, we invite you to join us for a musical brunch in good company.
The first session takes place on Sunday the 21st of January, and will be led by Laoise Kelly and Tiarnan O’Duinnchinn, harper and piper respectively. Both highly regarded by their peers, these master musicians have toured and performed all over the world, and this will be a wonderful opportunity for young musicians to spend quality time with some serious talent.
The second Super Sunday Session will take place on Sunday the 18th of February and will be led by one of the finest modern day exponents of traditional Sligo Fiddle style, Declan Folan and flautist and Téada member, Damien Stenson. This will provide another great opportunity for young trad musicians to enjoy time with professional players at the top of their game.
These sessions are free to attend.
