John Carty announces Hawk’s Well residency in October
Earlier this year, Trad Ireland/Traid Éireann announced that award-winning fiddle and banjo player John Carty has been selected as Trad Artist in Residence for County Sligo. The year-long residency began in July and focuses on creative development, while also including a strong community-engagement strand. A working space has been provided in Hawk’s Well Theatre throughout the residency, and a number of outreach components will see John share his wealth of knowledge with a variety of groups.
John Carty will be in residence at the Hawk's Well Theatre on Monday 21st October from 2-5pm.and again on Monday 4th November and Saturday 9th November from 2 - 5pm on both days. If anyone is interested in booking a half hour clinic with John to play, listen or talk about things relating to Sligo tradition, you can get in touch with him by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The residency is made possible by funding from the Arts Council’s Special Projects Award and support from Hawk’s Well Theatre.
