With Love From Sligo

From Valentine’s Day until Saint Patrick’s Day we are sharing the love from Sligo. Every day at 5pm we will share songs, tunes and words from Sligo from our facebook channel. Links to performances will also be posted to our website.

We know how lucky we are to be living in this beautiful part of the world during Lockdown. The natural beauty of our county has inspired the work of many artists over the years. Many musicians, writers and performers have visited Sligo and made it their home. Sligo is a hub for creativity and we look forward to sharing songs, tunes and words from Sligo’s artists with the world virtually over the next while.

Songs from Sligo with Cathy Jordan

Sun 14 Feb – Sat 20 Feb, 5pm

As part of Cathy’s residency at the Hawk’s Well she has been “collecting Sligo Songs” with a view to a performance of the finished body of work in the Hawk’s Well at some point in the future. Cathy will give us a preview of some of these songs here online as well as treating us to some songs about Sligo that she has been writing herself. All of this will be delivered with her own inimitable wit and style!

Tunes from Sligo with Oisín MacDiarmada

Sun 21 Feb - Sat 27 Feb, 5pm

We are delighted to have Oisín MacDiarmada perform for us live.  Oisín will share with us the origins of the many wonderful tunes which originate in Sligo and will post additional information about these tunes on our website for those who are inspired to dig deeper into our rich tradition.

From Our Home to Yours

Every Sunday from the 28th of February to the 14th of March we will celebrate a creative bubble in Sligo. Join us online for a family performance from one of our many talented families, including those below.
