Livin' Dred Theatre

“There’s a child belonging to me wandering around out there for seventy years and I never met him. I’ve a trip left in me… Get me leg!”

Mark Doherty’s award-winning Trad returns after a sell-out tour earlier in 2019. Directed by renowned actor Aaron Monaghan Trad features live Irish music and a hugely talented cast - Gus McDonagh (Da), Seamus O'Rourke (Son/Thomas) and Clare Barrett (Fr. Rice & Sal). Father and Son set out to discover the son they never knew he had with their journey being slightly absurd and wickedly funny.  Trad is a highly authentic and original Irish comedy.

It is the story of a 100-year-old man and his father who live in a remote rural Irish parish. Da and Son are the last of their lineage until they discover that Son has a 70-year old son. Together, Da and Son set out to discover the son they never knew he had. On their travels, Da and Son encounter two other characters both played by Clare Barrett, Fr. Rice, and Sal.

Illuminating all that is loved about rural Ireland and family, Trad is a side-splitting, heart-warming saga from the Cavan theatre company, Livin’ Dred. Not to be missed!
