The King and I
Sligo Musical Society, in association with Sligo Academy of Music proudly presents The King and I.
Relating the real-life experiences of Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher hired as part of the King of Siam's drive to modernise his country in the early 1860’s, the relationship between the King and Anna is marked by conflict through much of the piece, as well as by a love to which neither can admit. Supported by a rich and beautiful musical score, and featuring Sligo talent old and new, this charming show promises a wonderful and memorable musical theatre experience for all the family. Book early to avoid disappointment.
