Hawk’s Well Theatre Celebration Night
On this very special night we celebrate the historic lifespan of Sligo’s local theatre. Opened in January 1982, the idea of a theatre for Sligo, was initiated by a group of local drama enthusiasts and thirty-four years later the theatre still stands tall. Hosting over 50,000 visitors each year, and with over 2,000 local people treading its boards annually, this July a selection of its favourite performers and closest friends gather to pay due tribute to the much-loved Sligo theatre. Featuring; Eamon Morrissey, Michael Harding, Sandy Kelly, Cathy Jordan, Brian Leyden, Kieran Quinn and many more. We are delighted to be joined by Rhoda MacManus, the first Director of the Hawk's Well Theatre and guests from the legendary Acorn production company as well as representatives from local performing groups Sligo Drama Circle, Everyman Productions Sligo, Coolera Dramatic Society and Sligo Fun Company.
Hosted by actor Pauline McLynn, proceeds from the night will go to the theatre’s renovation fund to ensure this vital resource for future generations.
