Children’s Poet of the Year 2018
About the Children’s Poet of the Year Competition:
Are you in primary school and a budding poet?
W. B. Yeats, the very famous Irish poet and writer spent his childhood in Sligo and we know there are more fantastic poets in our schools right now!
Every year we choose a poem by W.B. Yeats to inspire us. This year the chosen poem is Where My Books Go.
Where My Books Go
All the words that I utter,
And all the words that I write,
Must spread out their wings untiring,
And never rest in their flight,
Till they come where your sad, sad heart is,
And sing to you in the night,
Beyond where the waters are moving,
Storm-darken’d or starry bright.
