The Second Coming tours Germany
The Second Coming – a co-production from the Hawk’s Well Theatre and Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Company heads to Germany for three weeks in October and November on tour. The show returned from four nights at the renowned Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow (the largest annual winter music festival of its kind and the UK's premier celebration of Celtic music) earlier this year where the production was a resounding success and received fantastic reviews.
In May 2014 the premiere of The Second Coming took place at the Hawk’s Well Theatre in Sligo where over two nights, audiences were spellbound by this spectacular show which beautifully fuses traditional Irish music, song and dance with aerial circus, theatre, narrative and film. This co-production from Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theatre and Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo then moved to Limerick as part of the Limerick City of Culture Programme before going to Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival in January 2015 where it ran from Friday 16th to Monday 19th at the Tramway Theatre.
“We are delighted that The Second Coming was so well received at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival and are delighted that it is heading to Germany for three weeks.. We are immensely proud to have co-produced this show and the audience reactions from Sligo, Limerick and Glasgow performances were amazing.
We are really looking forward to sharing this spectacle of Irish culture with audiences in Germany later this year and were delighted to welcome it back to Sligo for the Tread Softly festival and Fleadh 2015 as part of the Yeats 2015 celebrations. It’s great to see that all the hard work which went into producing this show is now paying off as we watch it literally, take flight”…says Marie O’Byrne, Director of the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo.
