Christmas at the Hawk’s Well Theatre
We have lots of great theatre and music events on during the festive season.
Crokey Hill Players bring Tommy Marren's new play Nobody's Talking to Me to the Hawk's Well on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th of December. This two hour Irish comedy is set in rural Ireland in 1986 and promises a great night out. The Fureys return to the theatre on Thursday 29th of December at 8pm. Brothers George and Eddie have continued to delight audiences on their tours and have just release a new CD The times they are a changing. The Macalla Suite returns to Sligo for its final concert of 2016 on Friday 30th December, having performed for over 11,000 people over the past year. Composed by Michael Rooney, the piece was commissioned as a central part of Ireland’s commemoration of the 1916 Rising Centenary and is performed by The Macalla Orchestra which includes 50 of some of Ireland’s finest classical and traditional musicians. The Macalla Suite is at the Hawk's Well on Friday 30th of December at 8pm.
Over the new year The Ronan Collins Showband show Reeling in the Showband Years returns to the Hawk's Well on Sunday 1st of January at 8pm. Ronan will be joined by Red Hurley, Gina from The Champions, Gregory from the Cadets, Keith and Lorraine McDonald and The Conquerors Showband. Sligo Fun Company kick start the year on Wednesday 4th of January with their production of Oliver - Charles Dickens ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more.
