Regarded by critics and musicians as an innovator David Bowie’s career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation. His music and stagecraft significantly influenced popular music. During his lifetime, his record sales, estimated at 140 million worldwide, made him one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer Prince, was a musical innovator who was known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, extravagant dress and makeup, and wide vocal range.
Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, poet, novelist, and painter Leonard Cohen was one of the world’s most covered songwriters whose work explored religion, politics, isolation, sexuality, and personal relationships. The Hawk’s Well celebrates the enormous contribution to art and music by these incredible artists who left us in 2016.
