The theatre is accessible to wheelchair users via the side entrance, by the stage door, and via the side passage (through the grey gate) and into the theatre bar area.

The Hawk's Well Theatre provides a member of staff to be in attendance when the building is open to deal with problems or emergencies. If you require us to provide staff for the running of your production (Lighting / Sound Operators, Stage Management or Crew) there may be a cost incurred by your company. Please check in advance.

On arrival at the Hawk's Well please contact the Technical Manager or Stage Manager. If they should be unavailable please report to the administration office or box office.
It is against the Hawk's Well's H&S policy for visiting companies' performers or technical staff to have access to the stage or auditorium without supervision.
During your stay please use the theatre stage door at all times. Please ensure that ALL of your company are aware of this.
Parking around the theatre is a problem. While the load-in is straightforward - from the street at the rear of the theatre, through the dock door and on to the stage, all on one level - vehicles must be moved immediately they are unloaded. The car-park at the rear of the building does not belong to The Hawk's Well and must be kept clear at all times. On-street parking is by parking ticket, or the cathedral car park (2 minutes’ walk) is €3 a day.
We would rather not "spike" the stage. Some weights and braces are available. If this is of concern please contact the theatre as soon as possible.
We prefer no painting or construction work to be undertaken in the theatre. Some alterations / running repairs will of course be allowed. Again, any concerns on this point - please get in touch.
All scenery (including props and furniture) must meet currently accepted standards of fire proofing for stage scenery used in a public performance space. This is especially important at the Hawk's Well as we operate without a Safety Curtain. The Fire Officer may require proof of steps taken to fireproof your scenery. Please ensure this proof is available if needed. Once again, if you have any questions or concerns on this matter please get in touch.
Any electrical equipment provided by your company (including stage lighting) must conform to all relevant current safety standards and regulations. Any stage lighting equipment must be fitted with a safety chain. Any electrical equipment may be subject to PAT testing if considered necessary.
The theatre reserves the right to refuse the use of any equipment, including scenery, deemed to be unsafe. Also the theatre reserves the right to prohibit any actions or activity in the theatre, including parts of the performance, deemed to put either theatre staff, performers or the public at risk.
The theatre's decision in all the above matters is final.
Please ensure that all of your company are aware that smoking is absolutely forbidden anywhere within the theatre.

Food and drinks are prohibited from the auditorium, control areas, stage and backstage area, except for the Green Room. As part of a performance - contact the theatre.
Alcohol is ABSOLUTELY forbidden from all backstage areas, including the dressing rooms and Green Room.
Health & Safety
Please take a moment to read the H&S notes on the door of the Green Room. The theatre's full H&S statement is available on request.
Most importantly: please identify escape routes, fire exits, locations of fire fighting equipment and alarms. Please familiarise yourself with the Fire Evacuation Notice.
Use common sense and care at all times. It is the responsibility of every individual to protect the health and safety of both themselves and those working around them.
